Run For Autism draws over 500 participants to Lewes

The annual LDAF Run For Autism ½ Marathon, 5k, and Kiddie Race was held last Sunday from Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes. Over 500 participants took part to raise awareness for such a popular local cause- Autism. The LDAF Organization hosted the event with the support from many sponsors, volunteers, Sussex Country EMS, Cape Henlopen State Park, and the Cape May Ferry to name a few.
Custom awards were made by Louis “Half” Stockley which has become a tradition to receive a orange or blue puzzle piece award. Heat became a factor in this years event with several participants smart enough to drop out, while others walked their way to the finishline. Eight water stops lines the course with over 100 volunteers covering the intersections and stops along the way.
“A big thank you to all of you for your help and continued dedication to LDAF, its mission and vision,” commented Mary Green from LDAF. “These fundraising events that we do are obviously a big deal and we could not do it without you! Thank you again for sweating it out in the heat with us and pulling off another successful Race for Autism”.
The LDAF Run For Autism is a true community event that brings out the best in people for such a great cause.
