The Day After 5k

Race Director Corner...Congratulations to all finishers in the final Shadow Run Series event- The Day After 5k.   I am so glad we made it to the Day After!    It was cold, it was windy, and boy was it dark.   Several of the participants carried flashlights and headlamps and I bet they were glad they did.   The State Park gets dark in a hurry and running in the dark gives a whole different look to the park.    Strider Rick Hundley said "it was the quietest 5k I ever ran.   Everyone was so focused on the trail and going the right way no one said a word."   Special thanks to organizer Dan MacElrevey, scout volunteers, Sussex Tech XC Gals Laura & Amanda, DelDot Jerry who provided some lights at the finish area, Fredman & the wonderful photo's, The Giant, Surf Bagel, and all the wonderful sponsors that made the 2012 Shadow Series a success.   2013 will bring at least two Shadow Series events, scheduled for June and August.    Results are listed below by Overall Finish & Age Group Finish.    Enjoy & Happy Holiday's from the Seashore Striders.
