Inaugraul Giggle Medic 5K
ATTRACTS 210 FINISHERS 5k Benefit held in the name of Medic Stephanie Callaway By Tim Bamforth
Paramedics, Police Officers, Fire Fighters and many locals in the area showed their support for the first annual Giggle Medic 5k run & walk held last Saturday morning from Cape Henlopen High School. The benefit run was held in the name of Stephanie Callaway, who was recently killed in an ambulance accident on Route 24. Stephanie’s two boys. Ryan & Matthew, assisted in firing the starters gun, which followed the honor guard, as the crowd of runners and walkers raced away from the starting line. A unique turnaround brought the field through the Lewes Firehouse, rather than behind the house, for a different flavor and a personal touch to Callaway and her dedication to the emergency response field of work. Quote One of the highlights of the morning was the presentation of the first annual Giggle Medic Spirit Award which will be awarded to the first male & female medic in the association. This year’s winners were Michael Carunchio and Kelli Starr-Leach.
